Kirat Ubhauli Parba/Festivals

Ubhauli is a great festival celebrated by the Kirati community. It represents the beginning of the farming season and the arrival of summer. They migrate from the plains to the hills in April/May. Before sowing new seeds in the field, farmers pray to the five elements of nature (water, air, fire, space, earth) for good crop production, peace and prosperity of all mankind, all living beings, and for blessings.
