Mahaguru (Guru’s Guru) Falgunanda symbolizes social reform, peacemaker, and unity creator. He is known as an enlightened personality who started a great campaign through religious and spiritual principles to reform the perverted customs and traditions prevalent in society in the past. Mahaguru was born in Eastern Nepal on November 8, 1885 (Sunday). From a young age, Mahaguru Falgunanda used to prompt his friends and the community members that being omnivores or eating fish and meat is not well for human beings, chewing or smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol ruins the individual’s health and wealth, murder and violence are a huge sin, sacrificing animals in the names of God/Goddess is not a right thing to do, dishonesties bring a massive problem in the family and community, and he had taught people to worship the Mangs/Gods in the morning and evening. He used to say that women should be prioritized and respected as creators. Mahaguru initiated and focused on education; he inspired the people in academic education to improve their personal lives and upgrade the thinking of society, which will help to uproot social adversities. Mahaguru Falgunanda was a tremendous spiritual and fully enlightened person with Great qualities and great Godly teaching power. He had brought the Kirat religion to the mainstream and deepened it socially, economically, and culturally. Mahaguru had spent his whole life preserving his religion, language, and originality to maintain peace and unity. Over time, he began to advance social reform as a campaign, spread religious and spiritual knowledge, and became known for his holiness "Mahaguru Falgunanda" and is still known by this holy name and is respected as a 16th national hero of Nepal. His great wisdom is still acknowledged to this day and is celebrated birth anniversary each year in many countries, including Nepal, India, Bhutan, the United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong, Myanmar, and the United States of America.
